New Orleans rode a decent outing from starter Gary Ashley to victory over the Charleston Battery at Charleston Armory. The final score was 6-3. The save went to Grover Lowdermilk, his 2nd this season. The loss drops Charleston to 4-2.

Danny Trautmann put New Orleans in front, 3-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Scott Morrison in the top of the third. It was his 2nd home run of the season.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Ashley, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
