Late Rally by Tritons Secures Win
|
The Jersey City Tritons topped the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes by the score of 7-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Nate Edwards. Edwards went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Tritons on the day. Jersey City reliever Jeff Dunn picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Yu-eh Mi took the loss. The Tritons sit in 5th place in the Premier AAA with a record of 55-47.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Jersey City trailing 6-3, Edwards hit a fastball from Yu-eh Mi for a grand slam home run, giving the Tritons the walk-off win.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Edwards told a Jersey City Chronicle reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
