Golden Cranes Come Back Late to Clip Tritons
|
Dirk Horwedel helped his team muscle past the Jersey City Tritons, 5-3. In the game, the Santa Barbara center fielder was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Juan Ayala, credited with the win, is now 5-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Tom Warrawong was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.
Santa Barbara used the bat of Lewis N. Clark to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Golden Cranes ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Santa Barbara manager Will Thomas.
