Golden Cranes Walk It Off for 58th Win of Season
|
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes topped the Bloomington Longnecks, 3-2, in USPL Triple A action at Crane Field. The player of the game was Santa Barbara pitcher and Las Matas de Farfan, Dominican Republic native Arturo Guerrero. The winner was Tom Warrawong in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Tom Peña took the loss.
The Golden Cranes were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when left fielder Jody Clark turned a 2-1 fastball from Tom Peña into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Santa Barbara a thrilling 3-2 win.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Clark said after the game.
The Golden Cranes improve their record to 58-39 with the win over Bloomington.
