The New Orleans Voodoo managed to get by the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-3, at The Voodoo Lounge. New Orleans pitcher Gary Ashley took player of the game honors. New Orleans reliever Grover Lowdermilk picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. Miguel Rubia shouldered the loss. Joe Khokar finished the game for New Orleans and earned his 3rd save.

New Orleans took a 4-3 lead on Ethan Brierley's 3rd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Brierley hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Northern Virginia pitcher Miguel Rubia shaking his head.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Northern Virginia manager David Lister said following the tough loss.

The third-place Voodoo have won 4 consecutive games.
