Tortolita got an elite performance from starting pitcher Hikaru Yamaguchi in taking a 3-1 decision over the Florida Men. Losses have been rare for the Men, who are now 7-2.
Yamaguchi, who was born in Noda, Japan, threw 92 pitches over 7 innings, while allowing no earned runs.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Yamaguchi. "Successful pitchers do it."
