Evergreens Drop Another One
|
The Greenville 84s picked up a win at 84s Field, knocking off the Portland Evergreens, 7-3. On the mound for Greenville was left-hander Kanakanui Lokomaikainani, who played a pivotal role in the win. The losing streak for Portland has now reached 5 games.
Pat Pending had a big run-scoring double for the 84s in the bottom of the second inning. With Greenville leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Robert Smalls and stroked the double to right-center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the 84s ahead, 2-0.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck.
