The Bakersfield Nobles easily defeated the Baton Rouge Brass, 16-1, at Brass Field, with right fielder Sadiya Seth a main contributor to the win. He belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for Bakersfield. Pavle Simic got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 5.2 innings. Bakersfield goes to 59-22. The win puts them 9 games up in their division.
Bakersfield used the bat of Juan Dávila to capture the win. The shortstop jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Nobles ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
