Sacramento beat Bloomington at Sacramento Sanitation Station, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Bob Shepard, who earned player of the game honors. The winner was Sacramento reliever Julius Spry, now 1-1. The loser was Salvador Sagastizabal. The current losing streak for Bloomington has reached 4 games.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Wilson Sabadodíaz was at the plate when Sacramento scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Redlegs to go in front, 3-2.
