Brass Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Bloomington
|
The Baton Rouge Brass beat the Bloomington Longnecks, 6-2, at Brass Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder José Soriano, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Baton Rouge is 7th in the Premier AAA with a record of 33-34.
The Brass got a big at-bat from first baseman Dean Shamakani. For the game, Shamakani was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 19th double of the season gave Baton Rouge a 3-0 lead.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Shamakani.
