Alaskan Hot Streak Continues with 3-1 Win
|
Rodrigo Alarcon pitched well, but his team, the Port Royal Disaster, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Alaskan Humpbacks at Ballpark of Port Royal. Alaskan reliever Júlio Valenzuela picked up the win to move to 2-0. Rodrigo Alarcon suffered the loss. The 4th-place Humpbacks have won 10 consecutive games.
Alaskan used the timely hitting of Scott Velthuizen to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Humpbacks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Port Royal manager Harris Bailey.
