The Virginia Beach Whales did just enough to secure a 7-6 victory over the Lancaster Farmers at Virginia Beach Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Clint Kirk, who captured player of the game honors. Virginia Beach has now won 4 games in a row.

Pat Geldart was the walk-off hero for Virginia Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Whales first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Kirk told the Virginia Beach Daily News.
