The Durham Rapiers knocked off the Yakima Hops, 5-1, at Rapiers Ballpark. Adrián Sánchez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Durham won. The catcher went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. With the win, Durham goes to 18-14, while the Hops fall to 15-17.

Tekkan Hayagawa went 1 for 2 for Durham. The 26-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Félix Aiza. It was his 9th RBI of the season.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Sánchez told reporters after the game.
