Lancaster left fielder Todd Strachota had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-4, to Virginia Beach at Virginia Beach Grounds. Strachota hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Virginia Beach reliever Arvid Alberink was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Curt Pless took the loss for Lancaster. Virginia Beach now has a 3-game win streak.
Alfonso Cabedo helped out the Virginia Beach cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Virginia Beach skipper Bernie Drake.
