Blimps Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Akron Blimps defeated the Minnesota Loons, 8-6, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Akron right fielder Pedro Guerrero was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The save was credited to Mamadou Boutin, his 8th. Akron has an impressive 21-10 record.
Guerrero had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run. The Blimps went on to win.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Guerrero, "but we got it done."
