Silver Sox Walk It Off for 3rd Win of Season
|
The Chicago Silver Sox and Las Vegas Flamingos obliged those fans who came to Silver Sox Park looking for a good time.
The Las Vegas Flamingos got a superb performance from right fielder Joo-Chan Park, but the Chicago Silver Sox still won the game, 5-4. Park was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Chicago reliever Lewis Carter, now 1-0. The loser was Jim Sison.
Víctor Cuevas was the walk-off hero for Chicago. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Silver Sox left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Cuevas.
The win gives Chicago a record of 3-2.
