Humpbacks Win Thriller, 7-6
|
Chip Mullaney did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Syracuse Starks from losing, 7-6, to the Alaskan Humpbacks at Sea World. Mullaney went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Alaskan has now won 6 straight.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Alaskan trailing 6-4, Augusto Reyes hit a fastball from Christiaan Volkers for a 3-run home run, giving the Humpbacks the walk-off win.
"This is a very good team," said Reyes. "We have the chance to do something special."
