Tritons Curb Bronze Sox, 11-7
|
Santiago Valentín left his imprint on the 11-7 Jersey City win against the Texas Bronze Sox. Valentín, who is tied for 5th in the PAAA in stolen bases with 13, went 1-2 with 3 walks. He scored 3 runs. Alfred Osuch was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Jersey City has now won 3 straight, while the Bronze Sox have lost 3 in a row.
Víctor Bojórquez had a big run-scoring single for the Tritons in the top of the first inning. With Jersey City leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a forkball from Earl Farley and stroked the single to left. It was his 17th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tritons ahead, 2-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Valentín. "And not try to do too much."
