Syracuse pitcher Ollie McDaniell gave the Brass all they could handle, but in the end, Baton Rouge left Stark Stadium with a 6-5 win. McDaniell allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings. Rafael Bernal picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-4. Jeffery Brock was tagged with the loss. Syracuse has now lost 9 straight.

Stephen Goldobenko had a nice at-bat for the Brass with no one out in the top of the 11th. With the bases empty, the designated hitter got hit by a pitch, which would prove important in the Baton Rouge win.
