Blue Sox Need Extra Frames to Get Past Ghosts
|
The Irving Blue Sox did just enough to sneak past the Casper Ghosts, 4-3, at Blue Sox Ballpark. Irving pitcher Greg Poe earned player of the game honors. Irving is now 8-20, while Casper is 12-16.
Irving took a 4-3 lead on Jong-yun Rhee's 27th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Rhee hit in the bottom of the tenth, left Casper pitcher Foster Lang visibly frustrated.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Casper skipper José Zamora, "and it cost us."
