Nobles Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks got a superb performance from pitcher Modeste Azagba. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bakersfield. The Nobles won the game, 3-1. In spite of the loss, Azagba was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Bakersfield is now riding a 4-game win streak.
Bakersfield took a 3-1 lead on Omer Yurtseven's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Yurtseven hit in the top of the ninth, left Alaskan pitcher Ramón Costello visibly frustrated.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Yurtseven said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
