Loss to Redlegs Extends Jersey City Losing Streak
|
The Sacramento Redlegs got a strong performance from pitcher Bob Shepard, who stymied the Jersey City offense en route to a 4-2 win at Jersey City Grounds. WyDale Curry earned the save for Sacramento, his 6th of the year. Jersey City, at 23-23, has lost 10 straight.
Sacramento used the timely hitting of Gabriel Anaya to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Redlegs on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Anaya.
