Victory Pushes Humpbacks Record to 25-21
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks defeated the Bloomington Longnecks, 8-2, at Sea World today. Leading the charge for Alaskan was right fielder Teng Xuefeng. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Masami Kogawa got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Ramón Costello sewed up the save, his 4th.
Xuefeng had a key at-bat for Alaskan early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and gave Alaskan an early 2-0 lead.
When asked about his performance after the game, Xuefeng said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
Alaskan now sits at 25-21, while Bloomington falls to 30-16.
