Virginia Beach second baseman Paul Pitts had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 10-1 win over the Irving Blue Sox. With the win, Virginia Beach boosts its record to 8-10.

With Virginia Beach leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth, Pitts came up to bat against Irving pitcher Miguel Pérez. Pitts hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Whales on top, 6-1.

"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Whales manager Bernie Drake.
