Humpbacks Stymie Baton Rouge, Take 6-1 Win
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks stymied the Baton Rouge Brass, 6-1, at Brass Field. Abel Risinger, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Alaskan. Alaskan starter Masami Kogawa was credited with the win after throwing 81 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Alaskan bumps their record to 22-18 with the win.
Risinger came through with some timely hitting for Alaskan. With the score 0-0 in the top of the second and no one down, Risinger hit a 0-1 fastball for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season made it 3-0, Alaskan.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Risinger said in reaction to the win.
