Sacramento Redlegs starter Bob Shepard was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Port Royal Disaster, 4-2. Shepard picked up the win for Sacramento, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. WyDale Curry picked up the save for Sacramento, his 1st of the year.

Sacramento used the clutch hitting of Ismael Soto to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Redlegs ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Shepard said.
