Golden Cranes Suffer 9-7 Setback
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Bloomington Longnecks had to overcome a big game from Santa Barbara first baseman Braxton Cottongame to leave Lookouts Ballpark with a 9-7 victory. Cottongame went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Bloomington reliever Domingo Montémayor picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Perry shouldered the loss. Fernando Padilla earned the save for Bloomington, his 1st of the year.

Orlando Samundio hit a run-scoring double off Román Ornelas in the bottom of the third, which put the Longnecks in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Samundio had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.

"We got the victory," said Samundio. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

Their 19-14 record puts the Longnecks 4th in the Premier AAA.
