The Virginia Beach Whales racked up a win at Blue Sox Ballpark, bumping off the Irving Blue Sox, 4-2. Ed Alexander, who started for Virginia Beach, pitched effectively for his team. Alexander, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. The Blue Sox, now 3-13, continue their poor start.
