Loss Extends Texas Losing Streak
|
Shiki Yamamoto pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Texas Bronze Sox, despite Yamamoto's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Bakersfield Nobles at Bronze Sox Park. The Bronze Sox, at 9-23, have lost 7 straight games.
One important at-bat came with the bases empty in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Texas hurler Shiki Yamamoto, Juan Macíel, who is tied for 8th in the PAAA in stolen bases with 7, hit a triple. The Nobles went on to win.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Texas manager Wynn Burton.
