Port Royal turned a good effort from starter Dean Cross into a win over the Bloomington Longnecks at Ballpark of Port Royal. The final score was 6-1. Cross, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. At 17-13, Port Royal is in 5th place in the Premier AAA.
Early in the game, third baseman Alfonso López had a 2-run single for Port Royal. It was his 26th hit of the season and put the Disaster on top, 2-1.
"I thought we played a nice game," Cross told the Port Royal Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
