The Whales faced a stiff challenge from Lancaster pitcher David Schrattenthaler, but persevered to claim a win at Farmers Field. The final score was 3-2. Schrattenthaler went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Kenny Hunt earned the save, his 2nd, for the Whales. With the win, Virginia Beach boosts its record to 6-6.

Virginia Beach used the timely hitting of Manny Dedo to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Whales on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
