The Sacramento Redlegs picked up a win at Bronze Sox Park, knocking off the Texas Bronze Sox, 3-1. On the mound for Sacramento was right-hander Tim Owens, who played a pivotal role in the win. Hwa-pyung Yi picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Pak Dong Hyeon was tagged with the loss. José Valdéz earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
Sacramento used the timely hitting of Carlos Árias to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Redlegs on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Owens told a Sacramento Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Bronze Sox, now 6-14, continue their sluggish start.
