Voodoo Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Portland
New Orleans Voodoo starter Gary Ashley was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Portland Evergreens, 8-4. Ashley went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 14. His record improves to 5-0. The Voodoo bumped their record to 22-20 with this latest triumph.

In the bottom of the first, Jonathan Gunner hit a 3-run home run for New Orleans. The 8th home run of the season for the New Orleans left fielder put the Voodoo on top, 3-0.

"I had a good game plan," said Ashley. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Chase Sims said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
