Jim Robbins helped his team muscle past the Casper Ghosts, 6-5. In the game, the Akron second baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winner was Vicente López in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Melvin Conner took the loss. Mamadou Boutin was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Pedro Martínez had a game-changing hit. The Blimps center fielder slammed a 2-run single off Wilson Tamayo, making the score 4-2, Akron.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Martínez said.
