Whales Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Shuckers
The Virginia Beach Whales outlasted Alfredo Reyes and the Biloxi Shuckers, 9-8. Reyes was impressive in the loss. The Biloxi designated hitter belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The winner was Mike Park in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Paolo Speranza took the loss. The win moves Virginia Beach to a record of 3-5.

Asberry Harpending was the walk-off hero for Virginia Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Whales pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
