The Baton Rouge Brass powered past the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 9-3, at Brass Field. Baio Jianbua was 3-5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4, to lead the charge. Miika Jarvi got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. Fernando Nava, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Baton Rouge took the lead in the bottom of the seventh when Jianbua hit a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season made the score 4-3, Baton Rouge.
"I felt good up there," said Jianbua. "I saw the ball well."
Losses have been few and far between for the Golden Cranes, who are now 11-4.
