Ethan Brierley did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Baton Rouge Brass from losing, 5-3, to the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes at Brass Field. Brierley went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Golden Cranes raised their record to 11-3.

The result might have been different for Santa Barbara, had it not been for Samual Kingman, the 23-year old shortstop . Kingman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Santa Barbara up, 4-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Kingman told the Santa Barbara Daily News.
