The inspired effort of Irving center fielder Nick McGhee was not enough to prevent a 10-9 loss to the Lancaster Farmers. McGhee was 4 for 5 with 3 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win gives Lancaster a record of 4-3.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Junya Furuya came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Facing Irving pitcher Biff Pocoroba, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Lancaster on top, 10-9.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Dylan Smith.
