Wilson gets 5 RBI as Longnecks Squeeze Past Santa Barbara
|
Gene Wilson batted in 5 runs to lead Bloomington to a win over Santa Barbara. The final score was 5-4. Wilson chipped in with 1 single and 1 home run. Leon Alfons got the win, improving to 3-0. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The loss lowers the Santa Barbara record to 9-3.
Wilson put Bloomington up, 3-1, when he hit a 3-run home run off Ira Hipps in the top of the second. His 1st home run of the season helped the Longnecks capture the win.
"If we keep winning the close games," Wilson said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
