The Nobles grabbed a win, 6-4, at Jerome Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Texas pitcher Kevin Maughan. Maughan went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The defending champion Nobles have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 5-6 with the win.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Bakersfield trailing 4-3, Ryoichi Yoshida hit a sinker from Shusaku Kobayashi for a 3-run home run, giving the Nobles the walk-off win.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Yoshida said.
