In a tight contest at Jerome Grounds, the Texas Bronze Sox edged the Bakersfield Nobles by the score of 4-3. Texas third baseman Mitsuhide Bando, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. The Nobles drop to 4-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2040 season.
Texas used the clutch hitting of Donald Brown to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to give the Bronze Sox the lead, 2-0. For the game, Brown had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
After the game, Texas manager Wynn Burton applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
