The Bloomington Longnecks handed the Sacramento Redlegs a loss at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The final score was 12-6. Brock Waxley was named player of the game for Bloomington. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 6. He also added 2 walks. Jason Poulter earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.

In the top of the first, Waxley pounced on a 2-2 fastball from Gustavo Molina and hit a 3-run home run. It put Bloomington on top, 3-0.

"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Waxley. "The only team that can beat us is us."
