Manny Dedo left his imprint on the 6-4 Virginia Beach win against the Casper Ghosts. Dedo went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Kenny Hunt earned the save for Virginia Beach, his 1st of the year. The win moves Virginia Beach to a record of 1-1.
Virginia Beach used the timely hitting of Dave Thomas to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Whales ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Dedo.
