Golden Cranes Stick Starks with 7-3 Loss
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes knocked off the Syracuse Starks, 7-3, at Stark Stadium. Ed St. James, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Santa Barbara won. The second baseman was 1 for 2, while adding 3 RBI. Albert Pérez got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on no hits in 4 innings. The Golden Cranes, now 5-2, have been playing some good baseball.
It could have been a different outcome for Santa Barbara, had it not been for James Pike, the 34-year old center fielder . Pike contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Santa Barbara up, 5-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," St. James told the Santa Barbara Daily News.
