Brass Need Extra Frames to Get Past Redlegs
|
Fans of the Baton Rouge Brass who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Baton Rouge win over the visiting Sacramento Redlegs, 5-4. David Silva started for the home team against Luis Varela. David Silva earned the coveted player of the game honors.
Baton Rouge took a 5-4 lead on Peter Holland's 2nd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Holland hit in the bottom of the 11th, left Sacramento pitcher José Valdéz shaking his head.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Sacramento manager Rich Hunter.
