Dogfish Head Come Back Late to Top Fighting Dachsunds
|
The Milton Dogfish Head beat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 4-3, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Milton first baseman Lawrence O'Neal earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ricky O'Toole got credit for the win, improving to 7-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Dogfish Head, at 49-53, sit in 8th place in the Menard's AAA.
O'Neal had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 fastball from Mike Tate, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Dogfish Head a 4-3 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for O'Neal.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," O'Neal said.
