|
The Salt Lake City Buzz defeated the Plymouth Rocks, 7-3. Earning player of the game honors was first baseman Scott Ramsey, who went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Salt Lake City reliever Gunner Hines picked up the win to move to 3-3. Jesús Fernández suffered the loss. Salt Lake City is now 52-38.
Salt Lake City used the timely hitting of Glenn Lockhart to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Buzz on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Lockhart told the Salt Lake City Daily.
