Multi-HR Game for Tañón in 7-4 Win
|
The Buffalo White Walkers topped the Las Vegas Flamingos by the score of 7-4, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Luis Tañón. Tañón was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the White Walkers. Buffalo reliever Jorge Villanueva picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Alan Halsall shouldered the loss. Kenji Aoki recorded the save for Buffalo, his 11th of the season.
Tañón had a key at-bat for Buffalo early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Buffalo an early 3-0 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Tañón. "And not try to do too much."
The win puts the White Walkers at 19-17, while the Flamingos drop to 13-23.
