Flyers Fall to .500 After Loss to Black Mambas
|
Ramón Torres left his imprint on the 6-3 Austin win against the Pennsauken Flyers. Torres went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Francisco Rivas picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-3. He struck out 5 in 6 innings. The 7th-place Black Mambas are now 37-39, the Flyers 38-38.
Gilberto Juárez had a big run-scoring double for the Black Mambas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Austin leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from Al Gagne and stroked the double to right. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Black Mambas ahead, 3-1.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Torres told the Austin Times.
