Flamingos Get Close Win Over White Walkers
|
Beyond the Wall was the site of a competitive game between the Buffalo White Walkers and Las Vegas Flamingos.
The Buffalo White Walkers got a sterling performance from pitcher Kent Good, but the Flamingos still prevailed, 5-3. Good was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Las Vegas reliever Ricardo Ruíz was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Woodward Haberdash took the loss for Buffalo. Morris Prinkey finished to wrap up his 7th save.
Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Eric Deweese to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flamingos on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We did enough to win," said Deweese.
Buffalo, at 18-17, has lost 4 straight.
